The HELIX
The HELIX will provide an actively managed, community-led landscape connecting Falkirk and Grangemouth to secure the:
-
engagement of ten local communities and wider communities of interest
-
transformation of some 400 hectares of blighted urban fringe landscape into a new dynamic green network
-
creation of new woodlands and other habitats to support a new landscape and greenspace network of long-term value and potential
-
establishment of new barrier-free pathways and cycleways connecting communities, facilities, employment, leisure and residential areas
-
creation of a new waterway, improving links between the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Forth Estuary overcoming historic obstacles to navigation and establishing a new Lowland Canal Gateway
-
managing the greenspace and wider HELIX infrastructure through a new Community Trust
