We work to maintain or improve the quality of life for those who have memory problems and their carers by providing person centred services to meet individual need.
The Joint dementia Initiative has been operational for a period of thirteen years and aims to provide support to enable people to live as long as possible in their own homes.
We are called JOINT because, although based in Falkirk and managed by Falkirk Council, our services extend into Stirling and Clackmannanshire and we work jointly with them and Forth Valley Primary Healthcare NHS Trust and Forth Valley Health Board.
Our services are for people of any age with a memory difficulty as well as their families and carers.
We also develop services and aim to be innovative and creative in responding to peoples needs.
You are encouraged to be as independent as possible and to be given the opportunity to make choices, as to whether you accept the service and, if so, how you spend your time, what you eat, your right to privacy etc. You are encouraged to go at your own pace and to take reasonable risks, which will add to your quality of life.
