Rehabilitation Service
Rehabilitation Workers help people adjust to living with significant sight loss by:

Visiting individuals to discuss coping with tasks, such as making a hot drink, preparing and cooking meals, or doing the laundry.

Training individuals to find their way around the home, school or work place.

Training in the use of mobility aids, such as symbol canes and long canes.

Advice about applying for a guide dog.

Assessment for specialist equipment and aids.

Provision of advice on lighting, colour contrast and and minor adaptations.

Instruction in Braille, Moon and keyboard skills.

Information about national and local services for people with a visual impairment.
