The Falkirk Wheel

Falkirk Wheel at night

The world's first rotating boatlift recreates the link between the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals. Opened by Her Majesty the Queen in 2002, this 35 metre high engineering marvel attracts visitors from all over the world and is already one of Scotland's most popular attractions.

The Lowland Canals

The restored Forth and Clyde Canal and Union Canal traverse the Falkirk area. Opportunities for boating, walking, cycling, sightseeing or simply lingering by the water, perhaps at a canalside bar or restaurant.

7 days a week:  9.30am – 6.00pm.

 

Last admission 6.00pm

 

Last boat trip 5.00pm summer, 3.00pm winter.
