Learning

Slamannan Classroom_globe

Whatever your age and circumstances, no matter what or how you want to learn, Falkirk Online offers guidance on where to find all the information you need to help you achieve your goals.

There are links to useful websites which offer advice on studying at school and on what direction to take next. If you're thinking of returning to work after a career or maternity break check out our details on funding opportunities and child care. If you need extra help with literacy and numeracy we can put you in touch with support services in the area. Or if you would rather learn on the job we've provided information on work based qualifications, apprenticeships and placements.

With a wide range of facilities in the Falkirk area learning has never been easier.

My Learning Style

We all learn in different ways depending on our personalities, our age, what we like and what we dislike. Some of us prefer to learn by doing, others by analysing, watching or being taught. If you are able to determine which way suits you best then you can choose the right learning style for you, then apply this method to any future learning.

To help you understand, read the information provided by the Campaign for Learning| and Learn Direct Scotland| who explain the four different styles.

If you're a parent or are interested in how children learn the BBC Wales website| contains features written by child psychologists and educational specialists outlining how children learn and how you as a parent can help and encourage them to learn.
