Youth Learning
Youth Learning is about encouraging young people across the Falkirk Council area to become active citizens and involved in local youth forums.
In particular it involves working to support the social and personal development of young people at risk. It can involve assertiveness, confidence and goal setting as well as skills development.
Group programmes are tailored to identified needs, are designed with young people and focus on issues identified by them. This can be health, relationships, drugs etc, or about young people having a voice in the local community about issues which affect them.
Other projects are often designed around local and national issues using creative mediums to allow young people to express themselves.
Youth learning takes place in youth clubs, projects and also on the street. This is supported by the Community Education Service and a team of trained youth workers.
In addition to the above, which is provided by the Community Education Service, some youth clubs are provided by local community centre committees.
