AN INVITATION TO CONTINUE YOUR PARTICIPATION IN THE DESIGN OF THE TAMFOURHILL REGENERATION PROJECT
Local residents have helped to contribute to the design proposals for this area. British Waterways Scotland and Falkirk Council invited local residents of Tamfourhill, Camelon and the surrounding area to attend a series of workshop events.
The first in this series of workshops was held at the beginning of December 2009 where the project was introduced and potential ideas were discussed. Feedback was positive and the event welcomed by those attending. The development team discussed many useful suggestions that were put forward by the local community.
The next event, Stage 2 was held at the beginning of February 2010 and exhibited the initial proposals that respond to the comments made by local residents during Stage 1. These took place on:
-
03 February at Camelon Education Centre
-
04 February at Tamfourhill Community Hall
Sketched ideas were presented, responding to the comments and ideas collated during Stage 1 of the consultation process. Emerging masterplan proposals were exhibited to the community. This stage informed the community of the masterplan's progress and encouraged essential feedback to the design team.
Public Presentation – Thursday 11 March 2010
The masterplan was developed responding to the comments and discussion points raised by the community at Stage 2. A presentation of the final proposed masterplan was made to the community at The Falkirk Wheel on 11 March 2010.
It is anticipated a Planning Application will be jointly submitted by British Waterways Scotland and Falkirk Council late Spring/early Summer 2010. If there are any further fundamental changes to the masterplan as presented on 11 March, before the Planning Application is submitted, a further community presentation will be made.
The community consultation on the pre planning phase of the project has completed, however final plans presented can be viewed on the Stage 3 – Current Proposals page|.
The masterplan has been developed responding to the comments and discussion points raised at Stage 2 and from comments made at The Falkirk Wheel and on-line survey. The community will have further opportunity to comment on the final masterplan proposal when the formal Planning Application is submitted to Falkirk Council.
