Grangemouth Town Centre
Plans to create modern and vibrant town centres are gathering pace!
Grangemouth town centre was completely changed in the 1960s with the creation of the then very modern, pedestrianised La Porte Precinct.
Town centre regeneration is a major part of the My Future's in Falkirk| economic initiative which is transforming the Falkirk Council area.
Now the town centre is set for radical change to bring it into the 21st century, boost business, local jobs and investment in the port.
The following improvements have been made to Grangemouth town centre:
-
shopfront replacement
-
town centre signage
-
Christmas lights
-
landscaping/hanging baskets
The third and final phase of shop front replacement has been completed. This has seen the remaining four units with original steel shop fronts replaced to complete the overall 1993 town centre refurbishment/investment.
Hanging baskets were introduced throughout the town over the summer and these were positively received by traders and shoppers as brightening the town.
Investment and maintenance has included:
-
replacement of glazed panels to La Porte Precinct canopy brightening parade
-
window replacement to rear elevation of York Arcade shops
-
continued security-plating improvements to rear entrances to Falkirk Council shops
-
new office entrances and common area refurbishment to 1–5 Kerse Road offices
-
fire alarm upgrade
